I have been of The True Christian Faith for just over 6 1/2 yrs and have yet to "read it all"... I am 59 and probably never will finish it... it is a lifetime study and a got a late start... There is no need to "read cover to cover"... The Bible is a study Guide under the leading of The Holy Spirit... God will lead the seeker to that which God wants the seeker to have.... I study daily... and sometimes one verse can take a week to go over.

Yes, but that is not the important thing.
Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.
2 Timothy 2:15

Now the Bereans were of more noble character than the Thessalonians, for they received the message with great eagerness and examined the Scriptures every day to see if what Paul said was true. Acts 17:11

Yes I have. Luckily my parents brought up all five of their kids on God's word. We had Bible classes for at least an hour every day and memorized verse and learned the meaning of the scriptures.

I raised my children up on the word of God also.
I wish everyone would.

Yes, I agree that the so called atheists would not be sorry if they allowed themselves to open their hearts and read God's word and live it.

You keep reading, You'll make it. The book of Numbers is the hardest!!!!!!!

Thanks for the encouragement.
Have a marvelous afternoon and evening.

Thumbs up on the question.

Not to toot my own horn, but yes, many times, but so do many people, so I'm not anything special.

The reason I think it is a good question, is I think it should primarily be posed to critics of the Bible. To try to criticize a book, and never having read through it is unscientific, to say the very least.

Yes as part of my upbringing I had to read the bible repeatedly in Latin and English and Spanish.
What I learned is it is not for me and I don't believe in it.
A perfect book from a perfect God would make each bible say the same thing no matter what language yet when translated they say different things. There are even different versions of the Bible in English.

I have read all that is in the Bible many times. However, I have not started at Genesis and read straight through Revelation.

Yes. Many, many times. I enjoy it. I have several different copies at home. I also have read and have copies of the scriptures of many other religions as well such as Islam, Judaism, Wicca, Shamanism, Native texts, Confuscism, Taoism, New Age, Shinto, Hinduism, Buddhism, etc. There is an excellent website at www.sacred-texts.com. It has a number of the world's religious texts. Fascinating site.

Not in the order it is written. I jump around and read some OT, then some NT, then back and forth. If I try to read all the OT in order, it drives me loony. So I jump around. I especially like Isaiah and Revelation.

Yes and I thought my brain had turned to Jello. So much of so-and-so begat so-and-so and on and on and on and on.... Some parts were interesting, but all in all, I didn't find it very spiritual. It is one of the reasons I left the church behind years ago and have found my own spiritual path that those needing the use of 'classification' would call it pagan. But I'm happy, and isn't that what sprituality is about?

I read it a few times and different versions as a child. I was never an atheist but I did denounce the church. The only group that I know with more hypocrites is the US government and unfortunately I cant denounce them.
