You can deep fry anything but I would hate to screw up a perfectly great prime rib cut by doing so.

No, but I've pan-fried round steaks. If you do it right they provide enough fat to fry themselves, but you have to be careful not to burn the leaner cuts. Usually I rub in some spices and a little mustard. Sometimes I add vinegar for flavoring, but it does a number on the finish of the pan (hot acid).

In theory you can deep-fry anything the same way as fried chicken: dip it in water or milk, roll it in breading (or spiced flour) and away you go - one step closer to the cardiac ward. :)

I haven't, and I don't think I ever would. INTERESTING, though.
