Use a mild antibacterial soap and get a washcloth wet with some warm water and gently wash the wrinkles thouroughly. Then use the washcloth with just plain warm water to remove any soap residue. Next, dry the skin as best as you can. Do this two times a day. If nothing improves then your vet should take a look at her and can prescribe some antifungal cream for her.

Pugs are prone to infections in the wrinkles and ears if they aren't kept really clean.

You can also use a baby wipe inbetween washings.

If it is only her face that smells, it is likely that the dog has a yeast infection in the folds of her skin. I know this sounds gross, but is a common problem in short-faced dogs. Check the folds of skin on her face and see if they are reddish and smelly. They may even have a whitish goo in them.

If this describes the dog, contact a vet and ask for some medicated wipes. You can usually get a tub of these for around $10. You shouldn't have to pay for a vet visit for this, but it will make a big difference in a few days if you use the wipes.

Take a washcloth & dip it in a solution of 1/2 warm water, 1/2 regular Listerine, and wipe the dog's face after she eats - especially in the folds. This should cut down on the smell.

She probalby needs a vet. The stink is probably coming from her mouth (poor dental care, poor quality food) or her ears (infection).

Most likely the dog needs to have her teeth cleaned.
They get really nasty smelling when their teeth are dirty and need cleaning.
We call it death breath and once they teeth are cleaned most smell much better.

it is their saliva, it gets all over when they drool or drink water! this happens with my shitzu too. try some doggy breath mint biscuits or any product that helps neutralize their breath and see if that helps.
