MDATA.DAT is a file which usually refers to a mouse. Have you recently uninstalled or installed a mouse on your computer? While the file won't do anything to your computer if its missing, it's probably very annoying to have to deal with the box, check out this link, it has some solutions to hopefully take care of your problem.
