My son recently got over a cold and I was giving him an antibiotic and a cough medicine. after 4 days of giving him the meds he has woken up with rosey pink cheeks, they fade after a few hours. They aren't hot or anything like that, but I quit giving him the medicine and it's went away. Could this be an alergic reaction to one of the meds? He hasn't been allergic to any other meds he's had. He is 20 months old. His Dad has rosacia, so I thought maybe that is what it was.

toddlers and babies have delicate skin. Has he been outside? The wind will chap their skin very easily and make it bright pink. usualy show after they have been outside, stays for a while then goes.

If they are not dry, it could just be "freshly awakened warm baby" cheeks. All three of my kids did that after a nap as toddlers! I loved it.

He's too young for rosacia. Check with your pediatrician. If the antibiotic was amoxicillan, he could have had a reaction, especially if you or dad are allergic to penicillin.

Speak to a physician or their nurse, may be something or not. His skin may be just a little irritated or dry, try a gentle baby lotion or cream on his cheeks.
