1 Corinthians 6:9-11 (The Message)
The Message (MSG)

9-11Don't you realize that this is not the way to live? Unjust people who don't care about God will not be joining in his kingdom. Those who use and abuse each other, use and abuse sex, use and abuse the earth and everything in it, don't qualify as citizens in God's kingdom. A number of you know from experience what I'm talking about, for not so long ago you were on that list. Since then, you've been cleaned up and given a fresh start by Jesus, our Master, our Messiah, and by our God present in us, the Spirit.

It says that you need to live a Godly life. Having Jesus in your life is the key. Your sins can't be "cleaned up" by anyone else, least of all yourself.

It is speaking of Lawsuits Among Believers

1If any of you has a dispute with another, dare he take it before the ungodly for judgment instead of before the saints? 2Do you not know that the saints will judge the world? And if you are to judge the world, are you not competent to judge trivial cases? 3Do you not know that we will judge angels? How much more the things of this life! 4Therefore, if you have disputes about such matters, appoint as judges even men of little account in the church![a] 5I say this to shame you. Is it possible that there is nobody among you wise enough to judge a dispute between believers? 6But instead, one brother goes to law against another—and this in front of unbelievers!
7The very fact that you have lawsuits among you means you have been completely defeated already. Why not rather be wronged? Why not rather be cheated? 8Instead, you yourselves cheat and do wrong, and you do this to your brothers.

9Do you not know that the wicked will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor male prostitutes nor homosexual offenders 10nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God. 11And that is what some of you were. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God.

Labonita... the verses are in reference to the world as it is now and as it was then. Corrupt, think of it, no matter how hard we try we go awry. In the book of John he states quite clearly that all we have to do is believe in the Christ, and what He came here for. That's the whole world.
You and I know of the Christ, as to the many who haven't we are not to worry about them. The Christ is God and he knows the hearts of all. Whether they know Him, or not. Many have not heard of the Christ but many have lived as honestly as they can; and they knew instictivly what is right, and what is wrong. Just as we do. Those people who lived in honour of right, rather than wrong will be washed by Jesus, as well as the one who have heard and know of Him and have accepted His way. There are many who claim to have accepted His way but still, they steal, they extort, get into drunken adultries. These people who speak of Christ and live in another world are not washed. They will not inherit the Kingdom of God.
Now in today's society many hear of God and refuse to accept it.Freewheeling playboys, whores, homosexuals, theives, and others who will not look beyond their own nose, are the ones Paul is talking about when he wrote this letter to the Corinthians.Whether they knew Christ or not.
What Paul is telling us when he wrote to the Corinthians is part of what he is speaking of before the ninth verse. You cannot take a few sentences out of a paragraph and make sense out of it without reading and understanding what was written before and after the verses.
Paul was telling us that we can judge ourselves amongst ourselves. We need not slander and sue before the world.Christians really need not sue one another we are supplied well enough by God's grace in all matters.
Paul goes on to say that all is for God, our bodies are for God why crap on it with adultries and sodomy? He says that all things are lawful, but do all these laws mean they are helpful?
Go find a Bible and read the whole chapter, and in that you will have a better idea of what Paul is saying in the ninth, tenth, and eleventh verses.

It speaks of two things, one, some (not all) sins which prevent one's inheritance of the Kingdom of God. Two, that it is possible to be washed, justified, and sanctified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and inherit the Kingdom after all. This is actually the Good News, or the Gospel. We need not stay in our sins, but the blood of Jesus' sacrifice for us will redeem us. Praise the Lord. Merry Christmas. (^_^)

1Co 6:9 Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor men who practice homosexuality,
1Co 6:10 nor thieves, nor the greedy, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God.
1Co 6:11 And such were some of you. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God.
