Seldom is a "preemptive strike" a good thing. Just as it would have been wrong to invade Cuba (Bay of Pigs), it was wrong to invade Iraq for the same reason.
Next point:
Diverting our attention away from Afghanistan will cause the loss in both engagements.
Next point:
A nation is only as good as their ethics, and for the last 4 years our ethics suck. Starting with ethics in government, ethics in buisness, and the ethics of dealing with prisioners.
Shall I go on??

maybe a better question is why we ARE at war in iraq.
all the early reasons seem to be moot. there are no weapons of mass destruction, the link between osama and hussein were non existent and we aren't really doing a good job of nation building.
the current reason we are there is because we are fighting terrorism. but i don't see how fighting in iraq is stopping terrorism, in fact i think it is inspiring terrorism. this is one reason i'm against the war, i think it's counter productive.
some will say that by being in iraq we are keeping the terrorists there and away from here. but weren't we already in afghanistan? using that method of thinking, wouldn't the terrorists go to afghanistan instead of to the us anyways?
but to answer your question directly, i am against the war because i believe it is resulting in an increase in terrorist activity that will haunt the us for many more years (as well as all the reasons for attacking a nation that didn't first attack us).

I am against Iraq simply because we have no business there, we went there on the premise that were WMD and there are none, we have only created more hatred towards the US in going to war with a fairly secular middle eastern nation. It is a shame that we did it and we need to figure out a way to get out.

I am against the war in Iraq--if we're there to give them democracy then there are quite a few countries that we will have to invade after this one..to correct their mistaken choice of government. However it was all a lie-WMD indeed. I keep thinking of the soldier who ran to save a little child sitting in the back seat of a car after they had had a firefight--he lifted her out and her head fell off. He will never be the same--nor I after reading it. Killing people solves nothing. The world has changed thanks to George W.and a few of his topnotch advisers who wanted war more than peace.

I don't believe that it is the US military's responsibility to set up governments that we like in other countries. I think the theory behind this war failed and it's time for our troops to stop dying over there.
