When a guys asks his girl to marry him, does it matter which knee the guy kneels on? My boyfriend keeps asking me and I tell him it doesn't matter. He thinks it does matter what knee he kneels on, just like it matters what finger to put the wedding ring on.
Which one of us is true?

I think if it goes on the right finger on the right hand then the guy is going to be ok.

Hey Cruz'n Girl.

I would say that you are correct. Which knee he uses to kneel on is not important. It would be a shame not to enjoy the moment for fear he is on the wrong knee. Kneeling is not about the knee, it is about recognizing the value of the woman before him; becoming humble in that moment; becoming as a beggar asking for happiness from his love. I would give him an A+ for still believing in kneeling...it may be old fashioned but it says a lot about the guy. So get past the knee and get on to your life together. All the best.

It doesn't matter what knee your boyfriend is on. My boyfriend asked me to marry him & he wasn't on his knee. We have been married for 3 1/2 years now. As long as your both happy. That's all that matters.

Usually the left knee on the floor - don't know if it's reversed for lefties. By and large, it doesn't matter tho. Even what finger the ring goes on doesn't really matter; it's the intent that is important.

It doesn't matter which knee he kneels on, or even if he kneels at all. It just depends which one he is more comfortable with or if he would rather just stand or sit next to you when he asks. Kneeling is not a requirement...

I've never heard of the knee mattering. I'm sure there might be some old wives tale out there, but I've yet to hear it. Tell him to relax, and quit worrying about the little stuff. I guarantee you that neither of you will ever remember what knee he was on, just that you love each other and it was the sweetest moment ever.

I think its the right knee. It matters to him because it is significant. Why doesn't he ask another man who is already married?

Most guys that I know have gotten down on the left knee.I do not think it matters because it is whichever knee he feels most comfortable on.

its tradition to kneel on the left knee, but you dont have to my fiance did, but it dont really matter ... the ring is to go on the ring finger of the left hand. mine had my sister turn my back to him and ask me if i really loved adam , and i said yes, then she said Melinda do you really want to spend the rest of your life with this man? and i said yes i do, and then she hugged me and said you have my blessings and i love you and stand behind youevery step of the way,,then she turned me around to find my man down on his left knee, with a engagement ring in one hand a single red rose in the other, and there he popped the question, and now we are getting married in 3 days !!
