Why does my mom insist on talking about everyones diarrhea?

Call me crazy but is is not weird for someone to just openly talk about others and their own diarrhea? Does anyone honostly want to hear that their mom has diarrhea and what good does it do to have this information?

I think it's a "mom" thing because mine did that too...and every other mother I know, come to think of it....got to be a "mom" thing....

Moms have seen it all. As a grown up it is not that bad to talk about things to help others out. It does however help others out when your mom talks to them about gross stuff like diarrhea and constipation, etc.
Tell her it embarrasses you. Let her know it is not something you want to hear or discuss or hear being discussed openly. She probably doesn't even realize you feel this way.
As a nurse someone youner than me asked me what I do. In short I told them that when he is older and needs his prostate checked then the data collected on him will be more acurate than it is now due to the advances in research. He was kinda embarrassed and grossed out. I apologized and changed the subject. Now if I told this to a man age 45 and older he would be interested to hear more.
SO tell her she is probably not aware.

is she talking about it to you or friends?

some stuff is just inappropriate for social conversation, and i'm pretty sure diarrhea falls into that category. someone needs to give her a reality check.

perhaps you need to tell your mom to stop with the mouth diarrhea. althought it happens to us all we don't all need to hear when it happens
