How does UCAS work?
Ucas is the centralised system for dealing with applications. You can only complete one UCAS form in a year and can list up to six choices of course (which could include more than one at the same institution).
When UCAS gets your form, it sends copies simultaneously to all the places you have listed and each university or college will make its own decision. The information about decisions etc will be sent to you from UCAS.

UCAS stands for universities and colleges admissions service and it provides students with a service that allows them to get into a university or college of their choice. Students register with UCAS and are asked to provide details such as exam grades/predictions, choose up to 6 courses that they want to study and also write a personal statement. The student then pays for the application and it is sent to UCAS. The information is then sent to universities and UCAS will allow students to track what is happening with the courses that they have applied to and also allows them to accept or decline offers. Any offers that a student accepts guarantees them a place on that course if they have the grades required to get into the university.
Hope this helps
