First of all, a robbery is when someone uses physical force on someone else in order to steal something that they have.
So no, the police will not be notified of a "robbery in progress" ATM machines have no direct link to local police departments.

Someone asked this last week. Where is this myth coming from? No it will not notify the police. If so, we would be very limited in ATM pin #'s and there wouldn't be enough to go around.

hhmmm .. NO.

Furthermore "hit 911 on your cell phone and they will trace you" ..HHHMMM.. NO - We can't.

The technology is getting there, but the cell phone would hit on the tower, which could be a 2 mile radius, so you would have to tell 911 WHERE you ARE.
