My cats drool when I pet them for an extended period of time. Is it because they are happy? I just want to make sure there is nothing wrong with them.

I have two out of six who will do this and many cats do so it is quite normal and not a matter for concern.

The only problem would be when a cat STARTS drooling and hasn't had a history of it. Sometimes a problem with teeth or infections in the mouth will make a cat start to drool.

Don't worry. Cats will drool when they are content or happy.

My cat kneads and drools at the same time. He is happy and so very cute!

Everything is fine. Your cats just love you! One of my three cats always drools as she purrs. The others just purr and knead me. My guess is that when certain cats purr, the movement in their throat produces extra saliva that just comes out the mouth a little bit.

Ever noticed your cat rubbing against the furniture or walls? He/She is marking their territory. They do this using two glands just behind the incisors.

When happy, they "drool", especially if you rub their chin, as they want to mark you as theirs, part of the territory.

Usually yes. Mine does the same thing. She kneads too and gets this look on her face like she is on some good drugs. :) Next time you go to the vet have them check to make sure they don't have gum disease.

If you have a vet app. coming in the near future, have him/her check on the cats...I think they are happy, but i'm not a certified expert! Great Question!

Yes. They are happy. Mine have always had the waterworks going when they get a lot of love.
