If you look into history you will find that Jesus was not born during Christmas. Christmas did not start out as being the time of Jesus' birth, it was originally called Saturnalia - a week long period from December 17-25 of Pagan ritual lawlesness where they would do awful things like murder and rape. The Christian leaders saw this period as an opportunity to create a Christian holiday in hopes to convert the Pagans. That is why we have Christmas today. Some of the Christmas customs such as the christmas tree and christmas presents, were adapted from the Pagan rituals. Pagans worshipped trees and they gave gifts to their emperors during the Saturnalia (Christmas).
There are many things of the Christian beliefs that were twisted from the true and original things in hopes to covert the unbelievers. The Vatican changed the Sabbath day from Saturday to Sunday to divide themselves from the Jews. Christian leaders have changed so many things that I don't know what to believe anymore! I myself am Christian but I often find myself divided between history facts and Christian beliefs.

I really hate this whole war on Christmas junk. It is ridiculous. I don't know anyone who doesn't think Christians should celebrate however they wish. All I hear is Christian who are mad that stores want to say Happy Holidays. I think in situations where you don't know the person it is nicer to use since it applies to all. We are a pluralistic nation founded on the idea of respecting all beliefs. So why not happy holidays? This is not a war on Christmas and it doesn't mean anyone is offended by Christians celebrating Christmas.

I'm not offended by Christians that want to celebrate Christmas.
I AM offended by "christians" who insist that their is the only holiday at this time of year, or those who require that everyone recognize their holiday - and no others - at stores and other places of business.
Funny, I always thought that the message of Christmas was to open your hearts and do good things for others. It seems like you are doing exactly the opposite, whether intentional or not. Why not celebrate Christ's birth by following his INclusive teachings about loving one another - for a change?

Probably because so-called "Christmas" offends Christ Jesus.
Jehovah's Witnesses love and respect and honor Christ. They do NOT celebrate so-called "Christmas" because "Christmas" does NOT celebrate Christ; "Christmas" celebrates the pagan Saturnalia. Jesus was not even born in December. Nearly all so-called Christmas customs dishonor Christ.
(Jeremiah 10:2-5) This is what Jehovah has said: "Do not learn the way of the nations at all... 3 For the customs of the peoples are just an exhalation, because it is a mere tree out of the forest that one has cut down, the work of the hands of the craftsman with the billhook. 4 With silver and with gold one makes it pretty. With nails and with hammers they fasten them down, that none may reel. ...the doing of any good is not with them."

By contrast, it's tragic that the one holiday Christ actually *DID* ask Christians to commemorate is entirely ignored by almost all of Christendom. It is, of course, the Memorial of Christ's death, sometimes called "the Last Supper" or "the Lord's Evening Meal".
(1 Corinthians 11:23-25, NWT) The Lord Jesus in the night in which he was going to be handed over took a loaf... Keep doing this in remembrance of me.” 25 He did likewise respecting the cup.. Keep doing this... in remembrance of me.”
(1 Cor 11:24, 25, NEB) "Do this as a memorial of me.”
Christ Jesus himself personally celebrated and explained the significance of that Last Supper to his followers (see Matthew 26:26-29). Christians who commemorate the Last Supper have done so on the same Jewish calendar date as Jesus did, Nisan 14, which generally falls between late March and mid-April. Interestingly, Christians in the centuries immediately after Christ's impalement were sometimes called "Quartodecimans" which literally mean "Fourteen-ers", because the early Christians were well-known for this true holy day.
How would Jesus feel to learn that the holiday he commanded was widely ignored, while his so-called followers chose to celebrate a pagan false god and their own traditions of men? We don't need to wonder.
(Matthew 15:6-9) You have made the word of God invalid because of your tradition. 7 You hypocrites, Isaiah aptly prophesied about you when he said, 8 ‘This people honors me with their lips, yet their heart is far removed from me. 9 It is in vain that they keep worshiping me, because they teach commands of men as doctrines.’”

Maybe they don't like being left out of the the fun and the celebration, so rather than join it, they want to do away with it.

Because if you celebrate CHristmas, you have to accept that Jesus is the son of God, and if you do that, then unless you believe in him, you know that you are going to Hell unless you chose to follow him and live according to his principles. Most people are too selfish to live for anyone other than themselves, so they reject anything Christian.

Christians do not have the right to insert their faith-based practices into the lives of other Americans, through legislation, public display (in publicly owned places without permit), or in the pledge of allegiance. Capital "G" god does not belong on our money.
