It is quite common for companies like this to rip people off and keep billing them, despite the person's best efforts to cancel. He needs to keep at them, and inform the credit card company, but if the issue is whether you should believe him, that's up to your judgment, but it is quite possible, even for companies more above-board than porn companies.
I had a similar experience with AOL long ago, and I believe AOL ended up getting sued for its practice of making it hard to cancel.

Can they LEGALLY do this? No. But my guess is they figure people are more likely to put up with the charges than risk the embarassment of talking to the credit card company to refute the charges. Put up with the emarassment. But first, call the porn company to express wishes to cancel again. Obtain an address and write to express the same. If and when you write, send the letter Certified Mail with Return Receit. This way they have to sign for it and the post office sends you the reciept with their signature so there is no way they can deny having received your letter.
Start keeping track of everything you do pertaining to this matter in a journal. Track date and times of phone calls, letters, etc. This can and will serve as legal documentation if things get that far. It will also convince the CC company that you have made every reasonable effort to handle the matter on your own - which they will insist on before they take any actions on their part. Eventually, even if the porn company doesn't take action, the CC will have to reverse the charges.

I work for a major credit card company and I would like to say the only way his credit card can be charged and not using the service if it auto-renews or he is still using the service.....Tell your boyfriend to call his credit card company and dispute the charge to get refunded for non usage of the service or if he refuses to do that then you will find out that he is still using the service and you go from there...... Good Luck

It's entirely possible for ANYONE to charge your credit card. However, it's also entirely possible for you to file a charge back dispute to recover the funds with ANY CREDIT CARD. You don't need a special 0 liability Capital One card like the commercials hype it up to be --- all credit cards are protected.
Simply call the credit card company up and ask to file a dispute/charge back against this company. They'll take your statement down, cancel your card, and send you a new card in the mail with a different credit card number and expiration date.
I've done 7 dispute/charge backs in the last 8 years, the highest amount was over $1,000 for a laptop on eBay, and in all 7 cases I've NEVER had to pay a dime. Technically, however, you are liable for up to $50, depending on how the investigation goes.

Oldest scam in the book by these shady online porn sites. They claim to need a credit card for "age verification" and state that you won't be billed, but they end up violating their own disclaimer and bill you anyway. I'm not saying what they are doing is legal or right, but anyone who visits such sites should immediately be suspicious and wary of using a credit card to verify age. You need to contact the credit card issuer and dispute it with them, but it won't be easy if the billing company for the porn site claims that you have been using their services and incurring billing charges. You may have no choice but to cancel the card to prevent being billed any further.

If the 'membership' was a 'per month' basis, then yes, they can keep billing him. IF he officially cancelled the service and has a 'paper trail' that shows it. You don't have to use a service to be billed for it. Just like a magazine subscription, you still get billed even though you might not open the magazine.

If the membership didn't get canceled in their billing system, they can. He needs to call them again and if they still don't stop, he should spend the money to have an attorney write a letter to them.

I would ask some questions first. Have you seen his last two or three statements. If so is these charges on their. If he has been using the site it will show up. If he hasn't and it just appeared in the last month he can dispute it. The concern I would have is- Is he trying to cover up his use from you. Please ask to see the last two to three months of bills. Good luck

Report it to the credit card company right away, they will block the charges and cancel the card and have them reissue a new one.

If he cancelled, then he has a case. Does he have a receipt of cancellation? Otherwise, any online vendor will charge whether you use the service or not.
What proof does he have of cancelling?
