I think the best gift to get someone, especially those you don't consider close friends or family, is a gift card. Your bank offers gift cards that can be used just like a debit/credit/ATM card. That way, they can get whatever they want. I have plenty of Santa Salt & Pepper Shakers, and other useless trinkets that I've been given by co-workers, and acquaintances over the years. Really would have preferred getting a gift card, even from Dunkin' Donuts. They're very convenient and something I'd actually use, as would most people!

Merry Christmas!

I would give them either money (if they can accept it), or gift certificates. I worked in a daycare for a year and they don't get paid much and I know the extra money will come in more handy than the gifts. =) You are so thoughful!

Depends upon their age --

older women would most likely like a gift to a favorite coffee shop or a new Christmas Ornament (either engraved with the year and child's name or year alone and your last name).

The Younger women -- well, they most likely have children -- so a small gift card to a local discount store or gift certificates to a local restaurant would go over well with this age.
