What happend to the familes of the disciples when they took off to follow Jesus..did they starve and how did they pay the rent?

Ah...the logistical questions...Jesus and his posse didn't just wander about all the time raising the dead and turning water into wine...that's just silly...there'd be nothing but thirsty drunk people and dead dudes.

They probably all had side jobs (carpenter, fisherman...whatever)...and the disciples probably took their families with them...like a band of nomads y'know? So the women and girls did all of the cooking, cleaning and setting up, while the fellas all went out odd jobbing and occasionally working the miracle thing. When he finally got 'famous' they were most likely 'comped' everything.

If you read the Gnostic scriptures; you will know that Mary Magdalene supported Jesus ministry through her great wealth.

Mary Magdalene was the daughter of Joseph of Arimithea.

Jesus depended upon donation, just as religious insitutions do today. The families were taken care of but had no man of the house, so to speak.

Jesus lived in a house and Generally sent out for pizza for the
disciples.

He fed them like the 5,000. The disciples became the church and fed each other and paid the rent.

According to the Bible they frequently stayed in hotels. They must have got money from somewhere. Maybe Jesus made the prostitutes pay him tithes.
