I was raised to believe the Bible was true. Then I learned about evolution. I really did not know a lot about the Bible, and what it REALLY taught, so evolution seemed credible to me.

That is, until I started studying it more closely. In teaching about insects, and how they developed to the point where they are now, they taught that the oldest fossilized insect remains were extremely similar to the insects that we see today. To me that seemed to indicate that maybe that was how they began, but the evolutionist conclusion? -- "Therefore, they must have evolved up to that point before fossils began to be formed." I noted there was no evidence for this, just conjecture.

Another thing I discovered was that many of the most respected evolutists used impeccable reasoning to prove their theory. I call their method of reasoning "The Emorer's New Clothes" method. For example, scientist H. S. Shelton asserts that the concept of special creation is “too foolish for serious consideration.” Biologist Richard Dawkins bluntly states: “If you meet somebody who claims not to believe in evolution, that person is ignorant, stupid or insane.” Similarly, Professor René Dubos says: “Most enlightened persons now accept as a fact that everything in the cosmos—from heavenly bodies to human beings—has developed and continues to develop through evolutionary processes.”

After this enlightening process, I turned to the Bible, and began to study it with Jehovah's Witnesses who were able to answer almost all my questions from the Bible.

I also saw that what the majority of the churches teach and practice is clearly not what the Bible teaches. I did research in other materials, such as Strong's Concordance, as well as interlinear Bibles and Greek and Hebrew lexicons, and despite what well meaning friends and relatives were telling me about Jehovah's Witnesses, the JW's were teaching the truth from the Bible, even admitting when they got it wrong and correcting themselves. This humble attitude is not reflected in the churches.

For these and other reasons I am now one of Jehovah's Christian Witnesses.
