Talking during an exam is a no-no. I can see why your teacher might have thought that you were cheating. (I'm sure you weren't!)

I sing to myself quite often, since I basically always have some song in my head. I didn't realize that other people heard it too, until one time I was walking down the hallway that contains my office and many other offices. A girl whose office was down the hallway from me said, "You're not singing today." I realized that her comment meant that I am singing most of the time when I walk down that hallway and she noticed it was unusual that I wasn't.

I talk to myself all the time, but no one hears me unless I'm in my white padded cell in my straightjacket, then my super-secret, ninja, kawasaki riding, mafia hitmen can hear me, but thats ok they are safe.

Seriously, I think if your teacher didn't want anyone to talk then she should have said something before the exam started. Also, it sounds like the way she handled it was wrong.

In my opinion teachers shouldn't be yelling at students under any circumstances. But thats just my opinion.

If she didn't write you up or send you to the principal, I would just blow it off.

Some people are too stressed.

She was probably having a bad day. Make sure that if you see her,Tell her to have a nice day and a wonderful Christmas. That will make her feel bad for yelling at you and make her think better of you at the same time.

yeah that happened to me too but i spazzed on the teacher and let her know that i was talkin to myself and others were having conversation amongst each other and that isnt fair at all.

what were the consequences? i hope she didnt give you a zero for talkin because i would have taken this up with the principal or dean...someone of higher authority.

Well, I understand her yelling at you for talking during a test, but I don't ses why you considering the others speaking around you. Was it something you said? :P

But no, never happened to me, probably because I don't talk to myself. XD

I've never gotten yelled at whenever I talked to myself, but then again I didn't do it during a test . . . but that sucks that she yelled at you when you were only talking to yourself - she has no right to intrude on your conversation! :P

She thinks that talking to others is good but not talking to oneself! What kind of a teacher is that? Doesn't she know that self-talk is a way of healthy development too????
