When one considers that your average lump of granite is, for all practical purposes, also non-biodegradeable,what is the problem with plastics.

I've seen birds wrapped up in fishing line, it kills them...also drift nets and other garbage kills many animals, fish and sea mammals...all made from plastics

Plastics, while they do not biodegrade, leach harmful chemicals into ground water. These chemicals can cause adverse affects in local fauna (animals and plants).

Because over time they break down into harmful components that take a very long time to completely disintegrate. Contamination!

wow that is a good question... maybe because humans can produce plastics very easily, and they might litter the earth too much?

cause animals would eat it and choke or something n die... stupid animals
