Can't scrape the popcorn off (renting). Can't tape it off right? Or the popcorn will come off with the tape. Just paint CAREFULLY with a trim brush? Any ideas?

Use a hand held strait edge, and a very thick brush. A brush that really loads up will work the best. What are you going to do when the Landlord sees the hand painted ceiling?

You can tape it off if you use the new "blue" masking tape specifically for painting. It shouldn't stick to the popcorn and then just cut it in with a trim brush.
Afterwards, just remove the tape - CAREFULLY at first to make sure it's not damaging the popcorn.

You'll just have to free hand the corner of the ceiling and wall. Put paint on the first 1/2 inch of a 2" brush and go slowly. Then go back abd bring the paint down low enough so you can use a roller. (about two inches) Roll the paint side to side rather than up and down so you don't get paint splashed on your ceiling.

Just paint carefully. There are edgers you can buy and hold in the corner while you paint the edge, but you still have to be very careful.

you employ tape, or you employ a broom and a mushy hand. the 2d is speedier, when you're ok at it. doesn't take that a lot tape to tape off what you're describing. decrease than an complete roll for particular.

I use an edge of some sort..like a trowell, it works very very well if you're careful spreading the paint.
