Are there any factors that would influence your opinion on this? For example, children? Her working or not working? Housework division? etc.
If you answer yes, what is the economic or social level a man has to be at before he qualifies for this? Is it more on the economic, or more on the social?

It's actually my wife who said this, not me.

Nonsense! There is no economic or social criteria for a man to have both a wife and a girlfriend. It's the way it should be... as long as the wife does not have a boyfriend. Now, with that in mind the wife can have a pretty girlfriend, and I stress the pretty part. That would be OK. Because two women together, even three is a beautiful thing. But I digress. Yes, a wife, girlfriend and you, all engaged in sex at the same time is OK and it does not matter how much money you make as long as you can get one of them to go for coffee and dougnuts after the deed is done. Hope this has helped.

I would find it pretty scary if you're serious about this question. What could have happened in your life to possibly lead you to such a conclusion? No one has the 'right' to have both a wife and a girlfriend....although I have no problems with a couple that chooses such an arrangement. It's their perogative if they are both consenting adults. So....my answer is no there is no economic or social level that would enable a man to have both a wife and girlfriend. Social and/or economic standing doesn't change the rules, morals, obligations, legal rights, etc. And hey...in case no one told you women can buy property in their own names, they can vote, they can choose to remain single, etc.

It comes down to morals, if you ask me. When you marry someone, you marry them and them alone, and promise to be true to them... so rich or poor, you don't get the "right" to cheat. I have read though that in China and Russia it's become perfectly acceptable, nay, expected, that rich men have a wife at home and at least one very well kept girlfriend on the side.. it's a bragging right, and more often then not, the wives are well aware of it, but put up with it because of the lavish lifestyle their husbands afford them (not to mention that a women filing for divorce in those countries aren't given the same rights as in north america or the UK.. rarely do courts side with them, and often they're left with nothing).

Nothing gives anyone that right. It doesn't matter if the wife works or not, if he's married to her, there's got to be a reason for it. He chose to do so, so he needs to respect her by not cheating. Because high social level or not, this is still called cheating. And it is wrong either way.

The only way a man can have a wife and a girlfriend and it be okay is if both the wife and the girlfriend accept and approve ahead of time. Otherwise, when one or the other doesn't know, you are just violating someones trust.

Are you serious? If a man beleives that he should have a mistress because he can afford one, his wife should have a man on the side because the HUSBAND can afford that, too.

I know a group of judges who all have mistresses and vacation with them. The mistresses mean no more than a BMW or mercedes. Something they have to keep up with their friends. When the cat's away, the wives play. Wake up men. All women aren't sitting around crying over you.

A man has a choice regardless of the economic or social standing, likewise a woman (at least in the U.S. and other Western cultures).

This choice, however, may provide harm to his/her families and may be driven more by narcissism than size of wallet.

The gutter would be the economic and social level he would either have to attain, or slide down into.

There is no such thing as an elite manwhore.

No way, if he can do that then he doesn't deserve the love from you at all.

Marriage is about one person and also so is any relationship that isn't open.

It's about time people realised that when you have a partner it's them you have chosen and if you can't stay with just one person then they need to be single to play around and be lonely.
