People have this all wrong. Nothing gets "removed" from your credit report. It just changes the status to "paid".

Credit reports show the history of your accounts, and therefore cannot remove items just because they are cleared up or paid.

It will remain on there a good seven years regardless of status.

Alot of people don't realize paid items in good standing can remain on your credit report for 10 years. In fact, the longer the better! This adds to your credit history. Of course, if this is for a bad debt or collection it will only remain for 7 years, but you should try to get it removed sooner.

Usually 30 to 60 days until the account will show up "PAID." Also, if you add a new credit line, that can take 30 to 60 days to show up on your credit

Items are then removed if there is no activity for 7 to 10 years.
