Well how much you can give him or her depends on how large the dog is, and how old the dog is. Peanut butter is high in fat, and salt so giving a dog too much is going to have the same affect on the dog, as it would in a human - hypertension, heart disease, obesity etc. Although I give the occasional peanut butter smear inside a kong toy to all of my 4 doggies, I always say it's "not an everyday food".

There is always a limit. Giving a dog peanut butter can kill them. Dogs sweat through their mouth. That is why dogs pant when they get hot. Giving a dog peanut butter clogs the pores that they sweat out of, causing the dog not to be able to pant when it gets hot. Plus they cannot remove it from its mouth. If the peanut butter gets stuck, it can only work it's way down the dogs throat. I WOULD NOT give it too much at a time.

Peanut butter is a VERY rich substance and should be given if ever as a very infrequent treat..like maybe once every two weeks or so. If you wish to give your dog something to lick up buy some stuff at the pet store that looks like cheese in a can but comes in flavors and is made for dogs. you can squirt the stuff onto chew toys or better into them and freeze them to make it lasts longer, please stop feeding human food to dogs.

No Peanut Butter is fine for dogs but like people dog are more likely to have deadly allergic reaction so to be on the safe do not give him any more Peanut Butter ( with experience I find out that dogs don't like Peanut Butter sticking to the roof of their mouth).

I would limit the amount you give your dog. Maybe 2 tablespoons, that's probably all I would suggest, but you must provide plenty of cold water for the dog to wash everything down. If you give the dog much more than that it could cause it to have diereah or stomach aches. The peanut butter is good for the dog though because of the protein, but to much will cause the dog to gain a substantial amount of weight. :o)

It should be given as a treat not a regular food.
A couple of tablespoons should be plenty.
It is high in sodium which is not great the fat the dogs can handle better than humans so that should not be a problem.
Mine get some inside the kong toys but only a tablespoon or two. I have dogs about 70 pounds.

I'm not sure why you would want to know how much he could have??? A spoonful here and there won't be a problem as long as it doesn't give him diarrhea. One of the biggest concerns is the calories you are adding to his diet-- obesity is one of the most common problems in dogs these days. Also, the more PB you give him, the less dog food he can or should eat, and PB alone isn't a balanced diet. So consider it like any other treat, and use moderation. Good Luck!!

for a treat just slide a scoop over his favorite treat like a doggy buiscut.but let me warn you. peanut butter can be a chocking hazard.so go easy on the amounts and provide lots of water.

It's fine just watch the fat content. Peanut butter can make them pack on the pounds but it's fine to give them as treats. Avoid other nuts though, macadamias are poisonous to dogs.

There is always a limit to how much!!!!!! Just give the dog a treat. You certainly don't want to make a meal out of it. Use common sense!
