Let me first say I feel nothing but heartbreak for all our young men and women killed in the line of duty and feel pain for the loss their families and friends must face! However. . .that being said. . . Cindy Sheehan is a loudmouth blowhard who I'm sure her son were he here today would smack upside the head and tell to shut up! Nobody FORCED her son to join the military. . .unlike many countries where military duty is MANDATORY!!! Where were all her complaints when her son was simply a soldier in training receiving numerous military benefits and financial compensation??? Why is it that numskulls like her have no problem with their children training to be soldiers and receiving benefits for such. . . but as soon as they are actually called upon to BE a soldier they have a cow? Cindy Sheehan needs to shut her fat yapper and stop disgracing her deceased son! War is hell and any death is tragic but give it a rest you blowhard!!!

I pity her for her loss.
If it were my son, I would be devastated.
But, I personally think she is using her son's death to get attention she didn't receive as a child. No amount of protesting is ever going to bring that boy back. And no amount of jail time is ever going to change the policies in effect right now.

If you don't like her, ignore her. Flooding her web site with complaints will do no good. It will simply inflame her more and give her "ammunition" for further statements and actions. That is, if she reads them at all. Most likely, the message would be deleted by someone screening her e-mail after they read the first sentence. Then all you've accomplished is increasing her web site visitor count. That makes her seem more popular than she is.

The most powerful statement that can be sent to her is if she makes an appearance and ends up speaking to an empty or nearly-empty house. Once the media figures out she has no support, they'll ignore her too.

Our troops have fought and died for her First Amendment rights, whether you agree with her or not. The same applies to those idiots who protest at military funerals. They make me angrier than Cindy Sheehan does.

Fight and die for your country for a honest cause.
Fight and die for your country for a dishonest cause.

Which one would you choose?

In both cases, you honor your military as they are doing what they are being told. Although the normal enlistment in the military is 4 years, the members in the military don't change out everytime there is an administration/policy change in the White House.

Don't look down on anyone because they don't agree with the policy currently in place. What makes America what it is, is that we can voice our opinions and show that we dissagree with our leaders. That how the system is suposto work.

Have the troops that have already died in Iraq die for a just cause? Many don't think so. Don't think just because someone who is bitter at the establishment is also not patriotic and is in full support of the troops.

Unlike what happened in Vietnam where the general public turned down their nose and spit on anyone that fought in the Vietnam, the people of today finally realize that our troops are only being told what to do and should be givin respect.

I personally think the war in Iraq was started based on bogus information from our leaders in the White House. They knew all along they were feeding everyone lies to gain support for the war. They knew they were going to get rich from the kickbacks from companies that lobbied them. You don't think someone in the administration is getting a kickback from Halburton?

It was a war for the rich to get richer and had nothing to do with terrorism.

It's just too bad that our troops are being used for a cause that benifits a few individuals and not the benefit of the nation.

Cindy Sheehan's going into the military was his choice. Also I don't think any of know or understand the pain of losing a child until you have gone through it personally. So we should not judge her for her grief, I don't agree with Cindy's way of thinking because I have 2 nephews in the military and their dad is in Iraq right now. But you have to remember that we have the right of free speech and we have the right to express it. So just as you have the right to sit back and call her names she has the right to let her feelings and beliefs be known.

I'm sorry for the lives lost in the war but Cindy is a cerifiable nutcase.
Her son would be so ashamed of her.
He joined the military of his own accord.
There is no draft.
He died fighting for idiots like his mother to raise h3ll & make a fool of themselves.
I think his life insurance money from the military would be better spent on a mental evaluation for her AND a tombstone for her brave son!!

Dissent is what made our country strong. Your overly generalized fearful views will destroy the world faster than any terrorist. Absolute security is impossible, and wars that don't respond to real threats only make things more dangerous. We need to be smart in this struggle. Going to Iraq was not smart, my friend.

But I understand your frustration. If it were true that we were actually fighting the right people, I would agree with you. But as it is, we are not. Afganistan and Saudia Arabia are our terrorist enemies. Iraq was an old enemy from old vendetta that Bush sr. started for no real reason. In 1991 Saddam was assured by the then U.S. Ambassador, April Glaspie that the U.S. would not intervene in inter-Arab disputes or stop him from invading Kuwait, in other words, he gave him a go-head signal.

Now that we are there, we must fix the country we destroyed. But it is going to be tough. We are no longer trusted because Mr. Bush has broken the good name of our country by lying us into this conflict. As long as he is president and any of the architects of this war are in power, I fear we will have a stalemate in Iraq. And that is not Cindy Sheehan's fault -- AT ALL!

She wants to know: What is the noble cause that prompted us to invade Iraq? I don't see one either. And that is an opinion we both have a right to have and express. After all, those rights are what we're fighting for in the first place.

If you had a mother like that, the thought of being shot at or killed must have been pleasant in comparison. It is a travesty that she's using her sons honorable death to further her own agenda.

If this is how she wants to express her freedom of speech then let her. She is American, her son paid his blood for freedom and Sheehan is allowed to express her views. She was personally touched by this war and no doubt is she alone in expressing her dislike of this conflict. As for saying she let her son join the military, we do not control the will of others and I am sure she had a hard time accepting his decision.

While I don't know the specifics of why and when her son enlisted, I am sure he didn't enlist to be taken into an illegal war with no point or purpose. Basically he put his trust in the commander in chief and he was betrayed. And, even if he was a gung-ho president supporter and wanted to go to Iraq, his mother still has the right to feel betrayed by the president.

So perhaps you should stop trying to stifle free speech, since, supposedly that is one of the things we are fighting for.

I see from your additional details, you only support free speech when people agree with you. You truly are a great American, no wait, that would be a great fascist.
