lol... easy way of looking at it... so the timberwolves (nba minnesota team, for those that don't know) played the jazz (nba utah team) friday. The jazz has the best record in the league, and are from a very religious state... BUT the timberwolves won by a nice margin... does that mean that God is a timberwolves fan?

That's a really interesting question!, but i think if you pray for something and happens, God did it, because when you sincerely ask you recive at the same way.
But if you don't pray and it happens but you desired it a lot with all your forces, that's called hope, maybe is why that thing happened, beacuse all the world conspiry for that thing come true if you really want it. ;)

I always think of this when I hear a topic like this.

I was once told by a Christian that god answers prayers in one of three ways:

1. YES!!
2. Not now, maybe later.
3. I have something better planned for you...

So apparently the answers are "Yes, Maybe, or No." God works in mysterious ways!

God answers prayers thru providence. Since God is not subject to time, he could have answered your prayer before you even asked for anything. And also, you may think he answers prayers with answers that do not favor you, but really that could just be so that something even better can happen later.

He had a hand in both. Although he always answers sometimes we might not like the answer. Also we are expected to work toward our goal (there is no free ride). Do not expect to do nothing and have G-d step in to help.

how come god only does things that can happen naturally? he will heal the flu but he wont heal an amputee...

sometimes i wonder if christians know that our body naturally heals itself, we have our own defenses verses colds and infections and diseases, and when we do get hit by one our body does fight it off on its own...
