I've been considering getting a beagle recently. I want the small kind that is equally proportioned. Do beagles make good pets? Do they get along well with other dogs? Are they easy to train? etc..

Naaaaa, don't know anything about Beagles LOL

Beagles first and formost hunt in a pack , so they are at their best with other dogs around. They actually train very well, but differentlly than a lot of other breeds. Beagles are very loving pets.
It can be very difficult to end up with a 13" because both 13" &15" can come from the same litter, and it is very difficult to tell the difference unless you have been around them for a long time.

the pack
do you think I need another one??

Beagles are incredibly intelligent, loving, playful dogs. They make great family pets. We have a 13" female Beagle and she just loves to play with our two little boys AND our two Siamese kitties. She likes to run around the house and then jump into my lap for a cuddle. She's very quiet. I don't know why anyone would say Beagles are barkers, I've found her to be a very quiet dog. She also hasn't been too difficult to housetrain, you just have to make sure you let your puppy out for a potty after each nap and within 30 minutes of a meal. It works. Definitely not a watchdog. Just LOVES attention from everyone, won't bark at strangers ... more interested in licking them. A great family pet.

Acquire beagle facts from kennels and get to see these inquisitive dogs. Gentle, sweet, lively and curious, these smart dogs make wonderful family pets. They have a reputation of active dogs that love everyone. They are reported excellent with children and generally good with other dogs. However, many breed owners claim that their pets have a mind of their own and are a challenge to train. Pups of this breed may be difficult to house break. The owner has to be firm and consistent and use various methods to find the one that will work for this particular dog. Acquire beagle facts from kennels and get to see these inquisitive dogs.

a million. My beagle terrorizes cats. However raised with one, I am certain they could be nice - peculiarly if the cat is better than the beagle. two. My beagle will get a million+hour of off-leash mountaineering in line with day, round half-hour of fetch, and limitless entry to the giant backyard. When they're more youthful shorter walks are excellent to be able to no longer do harm to their developing bones and joints. three. Pro Plan Sensitive Skin works good with him. You're going to wish to be conscious of the truth that beagles will also be particularly vocal puppies - which would possibly hassle your neighbours. However if any person will mostly be dwelling, he must be nice.

Beagles are hunting dogs so they tend to be busy active dogs.
They are barkers and they bay or howl. They do not do it as a pup but when full grown they do bay alot. Do let any one make you think they do not.
THey are a scent hound and will follow their nose so you will need a well fenced yard. They like to be busy and if they are bored they will dig. Best to have a spot in the yard for them to dig in. They love it. They do well with other dogs as many are raised in apack setting. They hunt as a pack.
They are good with children. Over all they are sweet little dogs but can be a handful ifthey do not get enought exercise. So walk them or run with them every day.

they are good dogs. they do howl. Its an anoying howl. and if givin the chance, they will follow their nose, and run away. beagles are a hound dog used for hunting, and they have very sinsitive noses.
most of them are good with kids though, unless they have a bad experiece with a child.

They are about average to train as it is hard to keep their attention. They like to smell the ground alot but get along well with others if socialized properly

They do make great pets, but do know that they are a vocal breed. Not a good pet if barking and yelping is something you don't want to have in your home.
