If you've been taking an antacid like Malox regularly that will cause your poop to go black sometimes. It could also mean that there is blood in the stool so you may want to go to the doctor and have a fecal test to rule that out. Good luck with that.

If there replaced right into a lot of BLOOD then get to the ER now... yet alot of blood is relative. when I say ALOT i advise over 50 % of the remember replaced into blood.. then meaning think ofyou've got a tear on your colon section. (brilliant pink blood is decrease colon/anal correct.. must be hemorroids, must be led to with techniques from ruptured blood vessels besides. yet back.. in case you word ALOT of blood.. get to the ER.. top colon and intestinal bleeding comes out black , from the body being unable to perfect digest the blood.. if there is grainy black do not forget that appears like espresso rounds that must be an indication of acute renal failure or perforated gut... in both case that is a clinical emergancy besides... and could rectifiy a visit to the ER. also, when you're passing a lot of blood and having a fever... or discomfort on your decrease decrease back/abdomen.. get to the ER ASAP. i wish this enables...

I assume it is not something you ate. Black means that there is blood in the stool. There is a simple occult test to tell. You can sometimes find them in a pharmacy. If not let your doctor know and he can test you.

I call this "The Grim" and no, there is nothing wrong. Your poo is colored by things that you eat. I don't know exactly what gives one "The Grim" but there is nothing to worry about.
I have also had "The Elvish" which is a very green turd. This is caused by fruit loops I believe. There is also "Mustard Mud" which is yellowish, cause is unknown.

Sounds like alot of iron in your system, but I would have it checked out. Especially after a certain age you should have a colon rectal test done yearly.

it can be serious. it could be digested blood, meaning you might be bleeding somewhre in your digextive tract.
it might be nothing. iron supplements and pepto bismul can change your bowel movement color.
