Catholicism actually started to be formed a few centuries later.
Christianity was started on the rock of faith, the same kind of faith expressed in Peter's confession, with the resurrection of Jesus and the day of Pentecost.
EDIT:
Oops - missed the rest of the question.
I think people's problem with Jews is not religious but racial. And just as unjustified as any other type of racism.

Because of Replacement Theology. It says that the Jews are under a curse because they killed Jesus, and the Church is now the New Israel.

But this is not so, God promised the land of Israel to the Jews and has promised to save them at the end of the Great Tribulation.

Mostly because fundies such as yourself make stupid remarks about Chrisitanity and Judiasm being the first TRUE religions.... You cannot be more mistaken.

The very fact that there are hundreds of differing faiths PROVES that your faith cannot and is not the only true one. And beleiving so only makes you appear foolish.

It's human nature for one to think he's smarter than his parents and grandparents, etc. therefore, anything 'new' has to be better than whatever is 'old'.
