"Heartburn" is experienced when the digestive acids in your stomach escape upwards into your esophagus and throat. The stomach has a protective lining to keep these acids from burning, but your esophagus and throat do not! There is a valve at the top of your stomach to keep the digestive juices in the stomach, but sometimes it doesn't work exactly right.
The sensation from heartburn is, literally, a burning sensation that may feel like it is located near the top of your stomach, or anywhere upwards from there to the top of your throat. It can be pretty painful, and can actually seem to spread out across your whole chest.
Occasional heartburn in pretty normal in everybody, but if it is happening several days in a row, or several times per week, you may need some medication to help control it. Chronic heartburn (that is, heartburn that keeps coming back) can slowly damage your esophagus -- so don't let it go for months without seeking treatment.
One last note: it can be difficult sometimes to distinguish between chest pain from heartburn and chest pain from a problem with your heart. If the feeling of chest pain is accompanied by any shortness of breath or dizziness, or if the pain seems to move into either arm (especially the left arm) or into your jaw -- call 911 immediately.

You feel like pressure on your heart/chest, like someone is pushing down, hard, with the heal of their hand.
Note, if you also have arm pain or known heart troubles, make sure it isn't more serious.
