What if the end of the world is being brought about through global warming and global wars by people who believe it's inevitable?

If people didn't believe in religion, would we be on our way to heaven on earth, instead of hell on earth?

I've been thinking this, too. Many hard core believers understand that the world will end, so they do nothing to prevent it and much to start it.

NO. Heaven on earth is not in the human make up.
Those who think we can control global warming are wishful thinking. The climate is changing, without doubt, but can we really do anything about it???? I think not.
You are also excepting the school of thought that 'believers' are the cause of hell on earth. You are right. But it is not true Christians that are at fault. Today's wars are caused by believers in things that are not "Godly". God has been blamed for all the ills of mankind since the beginning of time. Extreme people are led by extreme people who have convinced - brain washed - others to believe that they are saving the world.

I will not allow others to make me feel guilty because I don't buy into these theories.

There was a TV special a few years back called "Road to Armeggedon"; a 3 part series totalling some 6 hours! The end consultion was how MAN was leading the world to the end and what WE can do to stop it. (Which is your very questions.)

In reality, God has a plan. It will happen. It is near. And we can't know when.

The truth is, if we were all left here, we would destroy ourselves anyway. The world has rejected God, and His Son Jesus Christ. That is why God will pour out His wrath on the world.

But there is a way to escape the coming wrath. God says it is only through faith in Christ. Pretty simple!

Tell that to Ezekiel the prophet, who wrote at Ezekiel 38 and 39 that, in the end times, Russia will instigate an invasion of Israel, and will be joined by Iran, Syria, Libya, Turkey and other Muslim nations. God will kill each and every one of the invaders.

By your reasoning, these countries are willingly walking toward their own deaths!

End time prophecy is given to believers so we can know what's to happen and not lose faith during very difficult times. Just knowing Iran will lose is enough to keep me smiling whenever President Amadinejad says something stupid and hostile.

Peace.

Funny how global warming coincides with end-time Bible prophecy.

Its very common for religious leaders to teach there followers to have as many kids as possible. This way there religion is gaining following and power. How does this solve world hunger? or Overpopulation.

People can not cause the Rapture, or the plagues of Revelation or the return of Jesus.
