I havn't let my kids watch it because I couldn't stand to be in the same room with it. I've also seen reports that is can have a damaging effect on speech ability because of the way they "talk". It's annoying, repetative and moronic. But that's me. I would suggest you sit down and watch it yourself before you decide.

Teletubbies is not a show for a two year old. The little creatures make noises but do not talk, they grunt and point for what they want, this is behavior that will be repeated by him. They also make messes and have their little vacuum clean it up and never do it themselves.
Don't let him watch that junk...sesame street and Aurthur and even Barney are much better suited to kids his age. But less then one hour a day is recommended.

Dont worry about what "they" say. Mt daughter loved the teletubbies at 2 also. They are simple and toddlers love how they bounce around and giggle. The baby in the sun is so cute too. The tubby phase will pass with your nephew. Let him watch them if he want to. They are not going to brainwash him with their glowing tummy's. Oh yeah after my daughter watched the tubbies all day long everyday she fell in love with shrek, try it if you just cant stand the tubbies.

"Teletubies" is chance free and sweet and creative and sensible and toddlers like it. It teaches somewhat effectively. It teaches getting to comprehend ideas and throws in good manners even as this is at it. A fundamentailst evangelical preacher many years in the past claimed between the Teletubbies replaced into gay because it replaced into red and carried a handbag and had a triangle on its head. that is a genderless, chance free creature, for criminy's sake. the very truth replaced into this evangelist replaced into projecting his personal insecurities, this is yet another tale. (study Freud and Jung for more advantageous files). interior the interim, Teletubbies are large - even with the actual shown truth that once they repeat a scene for the fourth time you'll discover yet they could stress YOU batty. nonetheless: small cost to pay. Watch what good issues strengthen because the youngster receives into this tutor. he will say "please" and "thanks" and delight on your relaxing interaction with him.

Any television show can be used as an educational opportunity on your part. Watch the show -- you'll get the chance to build your nephew's vocabulary because he's excited about the show.

There's nothing wrong with the show. But, it was intended for very small children - very small. As soon as he is able to move on to something else, he'll let you know - his interest will fade. Until that time, let him watch the show. It's genius for catching small children's attention, using repetition and very predictable material. Anyone who thinks otherwise isn't a toddler.
It's just fine.

Nothing is wrong with the show. You just got your typical homo-phobes saying "Tinky-Winky" is "gay" because he carries a "bag" or "purse"around......Same people who said Bert & Ernie are gay yet Sesame Street is STILL #1 for children's programming. Let him watch.
