Should i take lexapro morning or night?

Just wondering from a couple of people who have took lexapro, was your experience better taking it in the morning or at night? I take mine at noon with my lunch... i do have problems sleeping at night..so im not sure if it would make a difference....

My doctor said that if it makes you sleepy, take it at night. If it makes you more awake and you have problems falling asleep at night take it in the morning. People react differently to every antidepressant there is. The best thing is to just find what makes you able to sleep at night. If neither of those work I would suggest talking to the Dr. about it and maybe trying a different Rx. Good luck!<3

I just started it as well and I am going to tell you I think that you should take it at night! I have ADD and it is really hard for me to fall asleep, even with something like Benadryl, and Lexapro knocks me out! I still feel sleepy during the day, but I heard it is a side effect that goes away after your body gets on the schedule with the medicine. Email if you have any other questions, I had the Pharmacist explain everything to me.

In my experience, Lexapro should be taken when you first get up in the morning. If you take it at night, it can cause insomnia.

My doctor advised me to take mine in the morning. I was having problems with getting really sleepy in the initial week and a half and he said that I may have to move it to the night but the sleepiness settled down so I still take it in the morning. My doctor also told me that some ppl get sleepy, others have problems sleeping and therefore have to adjust the timing of the doses accordingly. Good luck to you.
