As noted above, KARO is the brand name. But keep in mind that corn syrup comes in both light and dark, so make sure you use the appropriate one for the recipe.

Karo syrup is a little bit different than "plain old corn syrup".

Karo Syrup is a brand of thick corn syrup made from a concentrated solution of dextrose and other sugars derived from corn starch with preservatives and flavorings, while corn syrup is just corn syrup.

Depending on your recipe, it may not really matter.

Karo is the brand of corn syrup, you know like Aunt Jemima is maple pancake syrup. You can use any corn syrup in place of Karo, since it is corn syrup anyways! Just make sure that you do not sub dark for light or light for dark! Good luck!
