I don't see evolution as disproving Christianity; it merely disproves the Bible as being literal.

It all goes back to whether or not the universe had a beginning. Evolutionary scientists tell us that either the universe came from nothing by nothing or that it was always there. One theory, the Steady State Theory, also calls for the for the universe to be constantly generating hydrogen atoms from nothing. However, this belief violates a fundamental law of science - an event happening without a cause. What about causality? Also look up Robert Jastrow, founder and former director of NASA's Goddard Institute for Space Studies. He also supports universal beginnings in his book "God and the Astronomers" - motions of the galaxies, laws of thermodynamics, life of the stars. Also, what about the "radiation echo," which seems to come from everything? Research has discovered that the universe has low-level radiation from a past catastrophe that appears like a huge fireball - big bang theory (Penzias and Wilson). It has the exact pattern of light and heat produced in a massive explosion. Supporters of the Steady State Theory can't explain this one. So far, scientific evidence supports the beginning of the universe. Biblical documentation supports evidence of the beginning of the universe. My Christian faith supports evidence of the universe. This is why the majority of disbelievers of evolution are Christians.

Actually, people are TRYING to disprove the Bible with the theory of evolution, but there are many hole and lies in evolution.

There are 4 types of evolution and only Mirco evolution is science. But quite often evolution as a whole is promoted as science, but for something to be scientifically it must be reproduced in the lab (has anyone yet created a universe in a lab?).

For one example, evolution says that man came millions of years after the last dinosaurs, while the Bible says that they lived together. There are a number of places around the would that have human and dinosaur foot prints in the same rock (do a web search with the key words "human dinosaur foot prints" to see some examples).

the concept of evolution brings down the rules of Christianity and this isn't an exaggeration. enable me make my case: the concept of evolution has "disproved" the life of a literal Adam and Eve. on the different hand, all of us comprehend that folk like Paul believed in a literal Adam and Eve (study Romans 5:12-21 and 1st Corinthians 15:21-22) and went on to base an entire new theology ( i.e unique sin and a favor for a redeemer to redeem us from those sins) on the creation and fall of Adam and Eve. Paul's Adam can not exist because of what all of us study our organic international for a truth, and that really means that Paul's theology of unique sin is out the window. hence, there's no favor for any redeemer or messiah to save us from any sins; Jesus will become redundant. hence, Christianity is unfaithful and has also become redundant.

It is Christianity that disproves evolution and not the other way around. Evolution has proven Christianity as one of the changes of the beliefs of mankind from one ignorance to another.

Evolution does not disprove Christianity; it disproves the account of Creation in the Bible when read literally. Although many Creationists are Christian, most Christians are not Creationists.

But if you exclude the shrill voices coming from the U.S., you'd find that the statistic works the other way around too. The majority of Christians believe in evolution. And that certainly applies to the world's main-stream Christian denominations.

Shame on U.S. educational policy makers!

Evolution is only a threat to those whose faith requires them to take the creation story literally. Many Christians actually believe in the theory of evolution and have their faith intact without an issue.

Because of the topics posted here! I never hear these outside of Y/A. Must be better things to do! I don't sit around trying to prove or disprove evolution. Why? In the big scheme of things it does not really matter. Either you choose to believe in God, or you don't, your choice.

With evolution you can't have a literal interpretation of the bible.

I was taught something like this. "Once you believe in evolution, then you're saying the word of GOD isn't the truth. Your sinful HUMAN mind is determining what is true in GODS HOLY WORD! So once you decide THAT isn't true, then you might decide the FLOOD isn't true! And which of the 10 commandments don't you want to be true? What if our SAVIOR wasn't born of a VIRGIN? Why even say he rose for the DEAD? Cats will be living with DOGS, it will be chaos. Once humans start picking n chosing what is real and what is not, they set themselves up as GODS JUDGE and they are GOIN TO HELL."

Something like that. The typical slippery slope arguement with a little bit of brimstone.

Because evolution says that we EVOLVED from single celled organisms, ever changing and ever adapting.

Christians like to believe that we were CREATED the way that we are now, and that nothing in us changes.
