3 years after the date of registration. But take it in a week early in case it fails and then you'll have time to get repairs done.

A vehicle is due for its mot annual test 3 years after the registration date, but you can have an mot test carried out 1 month before the date and have it back dated so the mot will last 13 months. After that the vehicle requires and annual mot inspection.

For those who dont know what an mot is, it is an annual test which has to be carried out at a department of transport/ vosa station by a registerd tester who had completed a training course nad is examined regularly by the vehucle inspectoarate arm of Vosa

On the cars third birthday after production it should have its first LEGAL MOT. You can have it done before then if it is a fleet car or a company car just to be extra safe. Hey your not paying for it if it is a company one.

three years after first registration ie the date it says on the log book. my advice is to contact the dealer you got it from as you may get a discount for buying it from them (loyalty bonus) some do some don't, but you don't get if you don't ask.
