I think anything remotely having to do with the "Superman" symbol is going to look extremely tacky when it's done.

And why would someone want a tattoo of their OWN initials?

Does he sometimes forget his initials and needs them there so he can remember?

I don't know what this person is like, but let me tell you that Superman shield tattoos are extremely overdone. Ask any tattooer and he'll tell you that he's done handfuls.

And personally, if I meet a guy who has one, it just makes me roll my eyes. It's right up there with tribal tattoos, looney tunes characters and guys with barbed wire around their arms.

Maybe since you're designing it, you can come up with something unique with a blue and red twist to it. Believe me, this is so 90's. (or ghetto)

dont waste your time. tell your friend to go for an original design. the superman thing is so played out. plus if he gets ir now, right after the new movie came out, it'll just seem dumb. tell him to think of a more creative design, if all he wants is initials his possibilities are endless

Sorry, I have never seen one, but if he took his idea into the tattoo artist they should give him an initial sketch of what to expect. It would be easier that way.
