Plenty of them at the library and book stores. Also lookup the local Al Anon chapter in your town. This is the division of Alcoholics Anonymous that is for the "family members" of alcoholics and drug abusers. Or their friends. Meetings several times a week and anybody can attend if kept confidential what is said there.

The first book that I recommend to anyone who wants to understand the subject is the Consumers Union Report on Licit and Illicit Drugs at http://druglibrary.org/schaffer/Library/studies/cu/cumenu.htm

This is probably the best overall review of the subject ever written. It has been used as a college textbook for over thirty years.

Study Bible to learn God's way of living a satisfying life.

In the Beginning God created heavens and earth.
God gives you air to breathe and sunshine to enjoy.
God gives you water to drink and food to eat.
God gives you a wonderful body and sound mind, to live.
God loves you, and you are precious to Him.
Son of God died on the Cross to save us from condemnation.
Jesus’ love is boundless and everlasting.
We have the hope of Heaven through Jesus.
Life therefore has fantastic and glorious future!
(Digestion of above can even prevent depression and suicidal thoughts.)
