Will- what happened was this past Friday, he was in Florida for a celebrity golf tournament. He was riding in a golf cart and the driver took a sharp turn and Jimmie fell out of the cart and broke his left wrist. I know- it's sad! I would suggest you go to nascar.com for more information.

It is unfortunate for him. I think he should recover in time to drive in the 2007 season. I think he is an excellent driver and this will not keep him from defending the championship.

I would feel sorry for anyone who broke their wrist. However, if he was on the top of the golf cart and he and Edwards were messing around then maybe the two of them should donate some of that money to a charity local to the Golf course. Their own money not Johnson's foundation money. Maybe donate money so some kids who can't afford it can take golf lessons?
I'm a huge Johnson fan but he is idolized by millions, including children
My other thought is hey the guy just won the NEXTEL CUP so if he wants to act stupid for a little while hell, let him. WE should just leave the guy alone. Sorry, sitting on the fence and playing devil's advocate on this one

I dont feel sorry for him. He was playing around on the top of his golf cart like an idiot. He deserves to have his wrist broken.

So he was doing something he liked and he screwed up thus breaking his wrist. All sorts of comments could be made and will be made.It should not affect his driving(it may affect his putting) so let's lighten up.Next time maybe he will fasten his seat belts.
He is not the first to fall out of a golf cart,so maybe he needs to talk to Jeff Burton about driving a golf cart.
Note:jayski.com gives more details of what happened.

Not supposed to ride on top of the cart, they have seats for that. I find it really funny that he can't even follow the rules, for a golf cart. Let alone NASCAR.

Actually, he didn't "fall out of the cart" like he originally claimed - he was horsing around on top of the cart, according to witnesses, and got thrown off when the cart hit a berm (bump).
But, being Jimmie, he can't admit that it might possibly be HIS fault...

I don't really feel bad for him, not because I dislike him and want him to feel bad, but because he was doing something stupid and he paid the consequences. Also, it won't affect his Nextel Cup career at all, so I really can't feel to bad for him.
Oh, and the most recent report I read said that he was on top of the golf cart, not in it.

It is a bad deal when any driver gets hurt. Hopefully he will be healed in time for daytona. Remember last year when Tony got hurt at the Chili Bowl.....he had some trouble with pain in the early races. So you never know.

I'm not. He needs to be a man and deal with it! Heck Terry Labonte won in 96 with a broke wrist the last 8 races!

Cheaters get what cheaters deserve. I just wonder how much alcohol was involved. And don't tell me he wasn't drinking because sober golfers don't ride on top of their golf carts.
