If you only have psoriasis on the scalp, then you need only pay attention the the portion about the scalp. I should mention that if you can remove the crusts on your head, without breaking the skin and causing bleeding, this is best achieved by having the scalp wet, this will assist any medication to reach the actual area and not the crusts. You probably know it affects the skin, the scalp, the nails and the joints. The usual affect is on the skin. Depending on the type of psoriasis that you have normally affects the treatment. Supposing that it is Plaque type, You may find that the ointment 'Daivobet' and the capsules 'Regender' may help. Diprosalic is helpful if it is affecting your scalp. A coal tar solution dissolved in a bath of warm water for you to soak in 2 or 3 times a week is helpful. A fairly effective shampoo I have found is 'Ionil shampoo'. Remember that Sunshine is very good for this condition in all of it's forms. Summertime is good for psoriasis!
I hope this helps

I had a 13 year history of psoriasis, though I was in good health otherwise. But these severe large, thick and scaly excoriated plaques on my neck, ears, trunk and limbs ruined the way I was leading my life. I would be with red, inflamed itchy skin for most part of the year and these silvery scales would seem to be erupting without any reason. To make matters worse, blisters would appear over already red and itching skin. It was living hell.

I was treated with various options but nothing seemed to be working. Some of the treatments that I underwent in this depressing period of 13 years included tar preparation, tropical steroids and anthralin. I was also given light therapy many times but everything I tried would give me temporary relief.

And soon, after a few days I would be plagued with the situation again. In one of those moments when I was completely lost I stumbled upon this website just by chance. I read it and felt that as if someone had put the story my life on this web page. I was thoroughly convinced that if ANYONE can cure me of condition, it would be you.

And was I right, or what. I started recovering within 3 days of starting this treatment. Something that had become a painful part of me for 13 years was actually getting healed! My ears are healed and my neck is smooth again!. I am a month into the treatment and I have never felt better in my life!

Cure psoriasis starting today - even if your doctor or dermatologist says "it's impossible!"
I've just followed a guide called psoriasis free for life that completely cured me of this debilitating and embarrassing disease in less than a month!
Remember, this will not only treat the symptoms that you do see:
the red, inflamed itchy skin.
The silvery scales that seem to erupt for no reason.
The burning or bleeding that occurs around your joints.
The cracking, oozing and painful patches on your skin.
But it also treats the underlying cause of psoriasis - the part you don't see - the actual immune system deficiency that causes these itchy patches to appear and scale over.

Itching can be caused by insect bites like mosquito bites, heat rashes or allergic reactions. Aloe vera gel , apple cider vinegar or vitamin E oil can be effectively used on the affected skin.

Yes. Mine itches like that from time to time. Especially in winter when it is dry. About once every two months I wash my hair with Neutrogena T-Gel shampoo. It is expensive but it works great. If it doesnt fix it, go and see doctor.

Cosmetologist and Hollywood makeup artist Maurice Stein helps out clients referred to him by medical doctors across the country,as well as the standard must-be-picture-perfect stars.
Here are some of his recommendations.
* First of all,"Never try to cover up any open lesion" Stein says, echoing medical advice.
* "There's a very good over-the-counter cream, applied with a makeup sponge, that can be applied to the scalp to cover up the flaking" Stein says. "Get your doctor's approval first. It is called Courve, and it comes in black, dark, medium.and light brown, and gray.It works bt darkening the scalp to match the color of the hair"
* For elbows and knees,Stein recommends Indian earth mixed with your favorite emollient and spread over the plaques with a makeup sponge,A rock, ground to face powder consistency,Indian earth can be bought in salons, departmental stores, drug stores,or health food stores, "A dime -size portion is enough to do your whole body" he says. The emollient will keep the plaques moist ,and the Indian earth will disguise their appearance,"If you have to wear clothes over it,pat it dry to remove the excess" Stein advices.
* If you can't find Indian earth"look for a cosmetic base with a lot of pigment"he says."The best place to find and test them is at a local cosmetologist's.
Dr,Miller recommends Sarna lotion, which contains menthol and camphor,to soothe itching.
With regular doses of intense sun,95% of psoriasis suffers improve.
In mild psoriasis over-the-counter coal tar preparations are weaker than prescription versions but can be effective.Say's Dr,Miller. He further says You can apply the tar directly to the plaques or immerse yourself in tar bath oil and treat your scalp with tar shampoo. As it smells it is washed off after a certain amount of time.
Dr.Miller say's "Baths and heated swimming pools are excellent for psoriasis. But hot water may make itching worse.
Please note Zostrix is not for psoriasis but for shingles.
EugeneFarber,M.D., president of Psoriasis Research Institute is of the opinion"if you lie on the beach in Hawai for a week, you can get better.Even going in to the hospital for surgery can make your psoriasis better.Although it's stressesful, you're relaxing and being cared for,Any absence from your daily stresses, for any period of time is helpful"
