Well....let's see..what is the easiest way to explain this confusion about the "peanut butter" name. Well, my friend...peanut butter is named so...because it is made from PEANUTS not Peas! Ground up peanuts that because of the oil in them becomes liken to a buttery spread. You can have it extra-chunky, chunky or smooth...hence the name PEANUT butter.

help, i'm PEANUT BUTTER loopy. I keep promising myself I received't eat the entire jar of peanut butter each and every time i purchase it. immediately I reported an excellent PEANUT BUTTER bathtub for 0.5 cost, because the fool i'm i purchased it. Peanuts are nuts encased in a shell like peas in a pod. Hence when smashed and ground to a pulp that spreads like butter.

If it has peas on it will be called pea butter, but is called peanut butter because its crucial ingredient is: PEANUTS

Because it's a pea in that it grows inside a shell... the question shoudl be, why is it called a nut when it's a legume....?
