Contrary to the first answer, ibuprofen does NOT contain any tylenol (acetaminophen) in it. It is its own medication. Either drug in high doses can be lethal. If you take 70 ibuprofen at once, you are getting about 14 grams of ibuprofen. This is enough to cause kidney failure and/or gastric ulcers. It would likely also cause an acidosis in the blood which could be fatal. As the other people wrote, if you are asking this for the wrong reason, please seek help.

You could die. The human body reacts differently for all people. Not everyone would be able to survive an amount like that. It is bad enough that normal side effects of taking Ibuprofen are things like constipation, diarrhea, ringing in the ears, dizziness, difficulty breathing, and many more. Now if you take that many pills, your body tells itself to shut down to try and save yourself from damage. Also your stomach can't handle that amount of medication as the regular amount can often create problems such as Ulcers, so you will probably throw up. Signs of overdosage, which you would get from this many pills are extreme dizziness, fast eye movements that cannot be controlled, slow breathing or small periods where you don't breath at all, and blue color around the lips, mouth, and nose. Your body may even put itself into a comma to try to keep you from dieing. So obviously don't take that many pills and if you do feel the need to take this many pills, please talk to a councilor first.

Dogs simply don't metabolize drugs the same way humans do. The active ingredients in medications are broken done (metabolized) by the liver and excreted by the kidneys. This process varies a lot between different species. Ibuprofen is not a drug that has been tested extensively on dogs so we don't how safe it is or if it even helps. Buffered aspirin is preferred over every type of OTC pain medication for dogs. Carprofen has been tested on dogs extensively and has been proven to be safe and effective. Of course you'll read all over the Internet that Rimadyl is dangerous but every drug has side effects, especially a drug that is so commonly used as Rimadyl. A lot of people say, "Rimadyl has the most reported side effects of any dog medication on the market." Well DUH! it's also the most widely used so you would expect those kinds of results! I definitely would NOT give my dog any OTC pain reliever other than buffered aspirin. Even then you don't want to do this for too long because you can cause stomach ulercations. There are also many other arthritis medications besides Rimadyl for dogs. Deramaxx and Metacam are also widely used by veterinarians.

As with most medications, there are ranges in strength. In this case, up to 800 mg per tablet. Don't do it. That being said; the first thing that would probably happen with ibuprofen (or many other anti-inflammatory type pain relief drug) is that you will throw it up pretty quickly. It is already a drug that can be rough on the stomach. Probably your digestive system would reject it before you could take and/or digest that many tablets. You would most likely throw up to the point of dry heaving, have extreme heartburn and cause painful damage to the lining of your stomach, your esophagus, and have extreme fatigue from the pain caused from all of this. Should you actually keep that much ibuprofen down and in your system long enough, it would absolutely have the potential for a toxic result. You would probably manage to do permanent damage to yourself and be miserable if you survived. However, with most people, it is a difficult drug to exceed the recommended dosage due to stomach upset and vomiting (in large amounts to which you are referring.)

Well the LD50(amount you need to take to kill 50% of those who take it) of ibuprofen is 495 mg/kg [Guinea pig], with the average male adult guinea pig weight being 1050g.
So an average 63kg man would need about:
495x63=31185mg/kg
If a normal tablet is 200mg
So for a human of 63kg you would need 155.925 tablets!

Ibuprofen is also toxic to blood, lungs, the nervous system, mucous membranes.

yes ibprofen has a lot of tylenol substances in it and it will make your stomach bleed because your stomach can not dispose of all the toxins and your liver will go into hyperdrive and shut down.
