no, it will break down and not be good to use in the future. Unopened, it will last quite some time in the refrigerator.

You can put anything in the freezer that isn't too big to fit in. Same with sour cream. But you shouldn't, cause it'll separate.

Dairy sour cream should not be frozen since freezing will affect its texture causing it to separate when it thaws. However, some prepared dishes made with dairy sour cream can be frozen successfully.

Uh...girl you can, but when it thaws...it'll look and taste spoiled..LOL, I've done it before. Your best bet is to just buy a new container of sour cream..

sour cream separates when you freeze it. so if you want to be able to use it keep it in the fridge
