Well, the farting preacher is definitely funny. http://www.farting-preacher.com/ Really, check this guy out.

But overall, religious fanatics are very scary because they generally believe very much in what they say and do--even when it is to the detriment of others. And they often have a strong hold over their followers. Think of Jim Jones; he persuaded his follwers to poison not only themselves but their babies and children too. That's scary.

Scary, especially when they kill children in the name of Allah. Beslan Russia 300 elementary and middle school children killed. 700 injured, 1 Sept 2004.
The religiously Godless fanatics are the scariest of all as they have proven they can kill 150,000,000 innocents without blinking an eye. In N Korea they still manage to kill in concentration camps 40,000 a year and have done so for 56 yrs in a row.
Here is a list of some of the Religiously Godless Fanatics:

Stalin killed 60 million Christians, and Jews
Mao Killed 70 million Taoist, Buddhist, and Christians
Hitler Killed 8 million mostly Jews and Christian priests and nuns
Pol Pot Killed 3 million Buddhist
Kim Killed 4 million Buddhist, Christians
Kim 2 Killed .5 million Atheist all the other religions were dead
after the first Kim.
Castro has killed 0.25 million Christians and 10 thousand Atheist
The leaders listed above all found the Godless French Revolutionaries to be their role models. French revolution leaders Mirabeau, Danton, Marat, killed half a million Jews and Christians. They so hated religion that they even changed the calendar to 10 day weeks with new names for the days of the week so there would not be a weekend to worship on.

Good question

Depends on your definition of fanatics.

Labels in themselves are scary.

There are many very devoted Christians that make the world a better place to live every day, they have a deep faith and could be labeled fanatical Christians even though they do not judge anyone or force their beliefs on anyone.

Then there are the others that want a Religious Autocracy, those are scary to me.

Peace!

It depends. If they are harming noone, its funny. The Jews going touching a box on their doorpost everytime they walk in and out of their house, a Catholic crossing himself, a Muslim falling to pray wherever he is 5 times a day, etc. But its their right to do it as long as they harm none.

If it harms others, like the Jeish holocaust against the Canaanites thoudands of years ago, the Christian Crusades, and the Islamic extremists... Its scary and they should be stopped!!!

ANy kind of fanatic is not necessarily scary, but certainly someone to be watched. Using they have such a small area of influence they rarely bother others.

Any kind of fanatic - religious, non-religious or whatever - is scary as hell (no pun intended). They are the people who aren't afraid to kill or die for their cause. They can also be willing to suspend any and all laws in the pursuit of their beliefs.

They keep me up at night!!!

Fanatics of any sort are scary. (not just religious ones--although they may be easier to pick on)
