I've been on Zoloft for about ten years now. It has always worked well for me, but different people react differently to a med. I've never been on lexapro, so I can't give you a comparison.

Lexapro is better! I took Zoloft for almost 5 years and it never helped hardly any. Also I had a terrible time weaning myself off of the Zoloft. I felt like I was dying or something. What a horrific experience. Took me about 9 months to get over the withdrawals.

At the insistance of a doctor, I took Lexapro for about 2 years and felt oike I was in a stupor most of the time. Now I do what the previous advisor Atland recommended.

I was on both of those, don't do it !!!!!!!!!!!!!
I still continue to suffer severe adverse neurological effects from those type of drugs after being completely off for over a year
those drugs caused cushings syndrome in me, along with an extremely long list of other major problems
please take a look at these websites, I only wish I had been warned before, because now it's too late
I thought Oh that's not gonna happen to me, well it did, and your doctor will tell you it only happens to 2%, well when it happens to you, you get it 100%

Ignore #1 up there. He obviously has a perfect life & was never traumatized in any way. I have only used zoloft. It's always been fine for me. I've never used laxapro so I can't offer any advice about that. Everyone's bodies react different to different meds so you will have to experiment a bit before you find what is right for you.

Yes, lexapro is better...milder side effects is the main reason I say this...less stomach upset than zoloft or paxil.

FIRST OF ALL, EVERYONE'S CHEMISTRY IS DIFFERENT IN EVERY WAY so the drugs have DIFFERENT EFFECTS ON EVERYONE. Lexapro is not as potent chemically as Zoloft is though

Each person is different...its better if you ..yourself take them both..give each one a try at least for 3 to 4 or 6 months
....i think I liked Zoloft better because it didn't mess with my sexual libido ....

I recommend that you stop drugging yourself and start taking control of your mind.
