Yes, it is in the tissue and it has just turn outward instead of inward. Go see your Dentist.
Try Hydrogen Peroxide as a mouthwash inside and put it on the outside also with a cotton ball or a q tip. It is very healing and helps eliminate pain..Use twice a day and let it bubble the bacteria out of the abscess.
My dentist recommended it many years ago
and I still use it daily and have very healthy gums and teeth.

you could have a serious infection that has moved from your tooth to your jaw. You should really see a doctor and have antibiotics prescribed to you. Don't mess around, infections like these can progress into life threatening conditions if they move into the bloodstream. Go to your doctor!!!, especially if you start having chest pain of any kind, or you start getting sick to your stomach, that's when you know you need to go to the emergency room. Why didn't you go to the dentist if you had an abcess? For right now, add two teaspoon fulls of salt to warm water and gargle four times a day, and Go to the doctor.

It's entirely possible that the abcess infection is not totally gone and has manifested itself in this way. Get in touch with your dentist/oral surgeon/whoever treated the abcess and tell them about this; you may just need some antibiotics. Hope this info helped.

No. If it works itself into your jaw, you would have terrible symptoms....but it would all be INSIDE your mouth---not like a big zit on the outside.
