Ok some people asked me to point out whether it is legal or illegal well it seems everyone here is against illegal immigrants so that would stupid, even though it is an opinion. I was born in America, for those who asked. But I meant legal immigrants...keep commenting

I am for immigration - as long as it is done LEGALLY, as in through the proper channels and agencies. Just deciding that one wants to live in another country, and just going there without doing so through their government (like every other country of the world requires) is wrong. It is criminal in this country, and should be treated as such. Anyone found here illegally should be deported. End of story.

Read more about the issue, and determine your own point of view...immigration's a complex issue, I'm against illegal immigration, but not immigration itself, as we are largely a nation of immigrants, including the 'first americans', who themselves are shown to have emigrated from asia. But, since caribou and bison don't get regularly involved in legislation, mainly because they have little or no use for it, also because literacy and opposable thumbs are kind of elemental to the whole writing bit,
suffice it to say that a lot of people have moved to the americas, including french, british, dutch, spanish, german, and asian.
Making sense of the entire mess and looking at it with a 21st century perspective with an eye toward putting the brakes on global population means looking directly at some facts, and coming up with some kind of manageable growth strategy.
The truth remains that illegal immigration is in and of itself a crime, and the people promoting it are doing so for economic reasons. It's also true that our country's going further in debt by the day, and that the way we've done business in the past might not be a tenable path in the future...again, I oppose illegal immigration, I think that if people want to move to our country, they need to take the time and trouble to do it legally, and not do so solely for economic reasons and in unlawful fashion.

We are all immigrants or descendants of immigrants. As long as they are legal immigrants I see no problem. Most Immigrants come here to find a better life, and or protection from some oppressive government or another. I think it is good to have an open door for them to come into the country and start a better life.

I am pro legal immigration. The key word here is legal. I think you will find a lot of people who feel the same way, if they are willing to follow the rules and do it the right way, I say welcome. If an American citizen breaks the law he goes to jail, why should an illegal be treated better then a citizen. If we are not going to enforce the immigration laws then why have them?

I am all for immigration. This is America, so all of us are technically immigrants if you trace our heritage back far enough. The big problem now, however, is that certain groups try to refer to illegal aliens as immigrants. I think that they're doing this to undermine the fact that it IS illegal. There is good reason for these laws. In order to protect national security as well as the security of those crossing the borders, we need to strictly enforce these laws. Illegally crossing the borders is dangerous. Alot of people die trying, and it should definately be discouraged. I also believe that everyone living here should not only be required to pay taxes, but be entitled to the privelages and services offered to legal residents.

All borders should be closed until crime and unemployment are at 0% in your country.Billions of dollars in aid leaves the country every year to help other nations maybe the focus should be on insuring it is received by the poor. Eliminating war in other countries would stop people from immigrating to safety. Also people are forgotten in there own country and could possibly be retrained to better serve society before retraining new citizens.
