"There's...something.....on the....wing!!!"
And if I can't sit there, I'll take an exit row

Short trips, I prefer a window seat. Long trips-definitely an aisle seat, so I can get up hourly and stretch. I also prefer right in front of the wings.

I am a window seat person--no further back than about midway through the plane. I feel like I have more room by the window.

Sit right in front of that section of the aircraft. There is more leg-room because there are no seats in front of you and you can move in and out without disturbing anyone. The drawback is at mealtimes, when special trays have to be fitted to your seat.

set in the isle that has the side door - it has the most room for your legs ,that way you can stretch them out in front of you and you will not get bumped into even if you sit in a isle seat.

I would strongly recommend that you visit this site (http://www.seatguru.com/). It'll provide you with seat recommendations. Factor in how long the flight is, how often you'll need to stand up, are you a super tall person (exit row is probably the best), etc.
