Ive been trying to transfer money from KB bank to my US account, and got the runaround from the bankers- I got that I can send money to just about anyone BUT myself back home. Which seems like a load of crap and trap to keep money in the country.

anyone know of the best way to do this and NOT involve someone stateside? I looked into a paypal transfer, but couldnt get my account authorized online. Thinking of just offering to have a Korean sent up an account at paypal and help them to send me the money. Anything to screw back at the banks!

any other ideas??

Are you currently in the states or still in Korea? Because I had to close my account completely get a cashiers check and then deposit it myself into an account when I got to the states. Its harder because the won rate fluctuates so much that they are stingy about sending the money for you. Avoid the run around and just close the account.

Hmmm...
I live here in state, and wasn't able to keep my accounts in different state.
Each time I moved, I had to close, then open new account, unless they have branch of my bank in the area.
Are you working in Korea?
Did you try to set up a direct deposit?
There are many Korean bank branch in states. You may be able to open one account there, then set up monthly with drawl plan to your home account from there.
Bank has gone crazy lately, and I hate the fact I need to use them.
Keep checking around, and you will found a way to get around.

Why do no longer you merely open up a Citibank account, no longer credit card, yet a checking or mark downs account. That way you will get admission to account in Korea and US. i've got individually accessed my account in Korea US and Germany with out situation.
