RESPONSIBLE breeders are prepared to keep as many puppies as necessary, as long as necessary, and care for them properly, until good homes are found. That's why we PLAN in advance, make sure we have enough funds on hand, and have buyers lined up before we even THINK of breeding.
You brought them into the world, don't dump your responsibilty on others.

Don't go to a pet store, they don't take good care of the puppies they sell and they spend way too much time in their cages there on "display" for the people shopping.
Don't offer them for free either, as some have bad intentions if they can get their hands on a free puppy, like selling them to a lab for research. Always ask at least a small adoption fee, like around what your local rescues might ask.
Try to contact your local rescue groups to see if they will take the pups in, tho around here, they won't from the general pubic, only from kill shelters.
Check for a no kill shelter in your area. This will give the puppies the best chance at getting adopted into good homes. One advantage for the pups is that they are pups and usually it's much easier to adopt puppies out than older dogs.

This is why we tell people not to breed. You were all excited to have those puppies earlier but now....
(Maybe you weren't and it was an accident but the hundreds of other people on here WERE and so here's a wonderful example of the aftermath.)
Don't you even think of killing them. Or dumping them for that matter. They are domesticated animals they can't fend for themselves. If you give them to a petshop you'll end up with dead puppies and broken legs, an all too familiar thing with these origination's. You brought theses babies into the world, now find them good, caring, loving homes.

I always wonders why nobody hear seems to worry about this - EVERYONE in my dog club worry themselves sick - she'll have twice as many puppies as I have reserves, my reserves will back out.......
One member of my club is still trying to place the last pup a year later..... another took 6 months to find homes for all -- I have one from another club member because 5 people with reserves backed out, I can name two litters that had the breeder keeping 3 pups for lack of homes -- and these are pups from the blue bloods (major winners) of the showring or performance field (or both)

NEVER take them to a pet store
pet stores dont care who buys what.. or what happens to them after they leave..
intelligent pet owners NEVER go to pet stores for pups they either get them from reputable breeders or adopt from local SPCA or humane society
this is where you should take your pups.. the SPCA or humane society... they will screen potential new owners and follow up to make sure the dogs are well placed.. infact they can do a better job of finding the pups a GOOD home than you can because they screen people to make sure its not people who resell to reseach labs etc..
this is your best option.. you can call your vet if you dont know what shelter exists in your area.. puppies are probably the easiest thing to adopt.. very adoptable
THEN spay your dog

DO NOT take them to the vets office...it the vets office took in everything offered to them there would be no room to practice. have you seen the dogs at pet stores? not a pleasant thought. Give them away to loving homes and have the female spayed so that this never happens at your house again.

You could try an add in the classified section of the news paper under adoption if you just want to give them away and say something like, free puppies to loving homes only or whatever. If that doesn't work you could try a rescue agency that finds homes for dogs, a lot of no-kill shelters do that as well as independent agencies.

You should have ask that yourself before you let you dog have these puppies. This is why so many unwanted dogs in dog pounds. You are responsible for there puppies. Do anything you can to find good homes for them. What you do with them, if you can't find homes for them???.. you keep them and get your dog spayed. These puppies didn't ask to be born. You let them be born. It is your job to make sure they are safe and in safe homes.

a local no-kill shelter (your vet will probably know of some) and put ads in the local papers, and on craigslist.com
and get your dog fixed, see how many unwanted dogs come from litters that you think you can get rid of (not saying your bred on purpose), can you imagine if every female had just one litter???

Try to see if you can place them with a humane society or shelter. Or a pet store if they will take them.
NOW SPAY your female so this does not happen again.
