The other answers you have gotten are great. Although I have one suggestion that works for me: take in one day at a time. When you say "never again", you begin to panick and crave a ciggerette right then and there. So take it one day at a time. Or even an hour at a time. Seriously! Just say....Okay it's 5:30 now, I'll have a smoke at 6:30. Then at 6:30 say..."Ok, I can wait until 7:30". Next thing you know the whole day has gone by and you've gotten through it without a single cigg. And no, silly you don't lose weight. Instead you begin trying to fill the craving with other foods. Mine is chocolate. Dangerous stuff. But what alot of people have had success with is replacing smoking with exercise. Try it out!!

Hi there !
Smoking leads to anorexia in some people ...ie: lack of hunger. hence less food intake and hence weight loss.
Now you want to stop smoking ???
visit the cancer ward of the nearest cancer hospital. You should see the sufferings undergone by those patients. You will be surprised to see that, 98% of the patients suffering from cancer of mouth regions give the history of smoking. gutkha chewing or tobacco chewing !
Or else , visit the nearest cardiac centre ! See the post-operative ward there ! See the sufferings undergone by the patients recovering after bye-pass surgeries...
or else..think about the dear ones waiting for you at home..!
You see all these and then the choice is yours..
I myself was a chronic smoker, smoking around 30 cigarretes daily. One fine morning i stopped......after seing few of my close friends sufferings....
best wishes

You can lose weight because you don't feel hungry because your sense of taste and smell is messed up so you don't eat as much. when I quite i stopped buying them and told my friends not to let me bum them, if you don't have them you can't smoke them. I got addicted to gum in the process but thats not so bad. Try the patch of nicotine gum for cravings. I also had an aunt that had acupuncture she never smoked again

i have seen some people who loosed their weight by smoking and some of them increased the weight after they started smoking. IF you want to quit smoking and its decided by your own then seriously you will quit it without any problem. its all upon the internal willness of yours. No one can help you out in that.

smoking causes los of weight in many unhealthy ways, firstly when the you are busy smoking you don't have the inclination to eat, the hunger is suppressed, then the taste of the mouth is so bad that good food also tastes bad. there are regular ways to quit like put on chewing gum and try to distract urself, also you can meditate, exercise, try to inculcate some nice physical activity in your routine.
